What things cost.

How much is childcare at Pulse?

Every licensed space at Pulse Academy participates in the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care agreement, so the parent fee reduction is applied automatically. There is no income test and no application. We bill you the reduced monthly amount directly through Brightwheel — you are never invoiced the full fee.

Our 2026 schedule is pending final confirmation and will be published here. Email us and we will send you the complete schedule in writing, including every optional item and the one-time fees, with no obligation.

For how the funding works generally, see our guide to the Saskatchewan fee reduction.

Are there fees on top of the monthly amount?

Yes, and we would rather you knew about them now than at signing. There is a one-time enrollment fee for new registrations, and an annual membership fee per child billed once a year.

Beyond that there are several optional programmes: an enhanced meal programme for specific dietary needs, quarterly specialty programming, a personal items programme covering diapers, wipes, sunscreen and bug spray, and an extended-hours rate for days a child is in care beyond ten hours.

None of the optional programmes are required to enroll or to stay enrolled. You opt in to what you want and ignore the rest.

How much is club membership?

Membership has a one-time initiation and monthly dues. Founding Membership is a limited presale tier at half the standard initiation with dues locked for life. Family, Individual and Corporate tiers sit alongside it.

Current figures are in the membership section of our home page, and how to join walks through the process.

Can I try before committing?

A day pass is $35 and a week pass is $90. If you join within 30 days, that fee credits toward your initiation — so trying it costs nothing in the end.

Is childcare cheaper if I am a member?

No, and it could not be. Childcare fees sit within the provincial fee schedule and are identical for every family in a room, member or not.

Getting here

Parking, transit and the building.

What is parking like?

We are at 331 1st Avenue North, in the Tees & Persse Building in downtown Saskatoon. Parking and drop-off arrangements are to be confirmed here — email us and we will tell you exactly what is available before your first visit.

Where exactly are you?

331 1st Avenue North, Saskatoon — a restored heritage warehouse in the middle of downtown, walking distance from the 1st and 2nd Avenue office blocks, the riverbank and the downtown transit corridor.

How do I get into the building?

Access is by fob, issued when you join or enroll. Boardrooms and meeting rooms are reserved in advance through the member portal rather than booked at the door.

What are your hours?

Hours of operation are to be confirmed here. Ask us and we will confirm current opening and closing times, along with the extended-hours rate if you need care beyond a standard day.

Do you have other locations?

Saskatoon is open now. Edmonton and Calgary are coming, and Pulse City Club also operates in Kelowna. Every membership includes reciprocal access across the network, so a move within it is a change of address rather than starting over.

Childcare

Ratios, educators and the rooms.

What are your staff-to-child ratios?

Ratios and maximum group sizes follow Saskatchewan regulation for each age category, and are held throughout the day rather than only at peak times. Our specific figures by room are to be confirmed here.

This is a question worth asking every centre you tour, along with how many different educators your child would see in a typical week — continuity matters as much as the ratio itself.

Are your educators qualified?

Every educator holds early childhood education certification at the level required by provincial regulation. All staff complete criminal record checks and vulnerable sector screening before working with children.

What ages do you take?

Three rooms, from infancy to school entry: infant under 18 months, toddler 18 to 30 months, preschool 30 months until your child starts school. More detail on the first two on our infant and toddler page.

Are you licensed?

Yes. Pulse Academy operates under Saskatchewan childcare legislation, licence number 90, regulated and inspected by the Ministry of Education. Licence documentation and inspection records are available on request and from the Ministry directly.

How long is the waitlist?

Shorter than most centres in the city, because we opened recently rather than accumulating a list over many years. Infant spaces move fastest and are the scarcest category in Saskatoon.

Email us with the room and start date you need and we will tell you honestly where you would sit, rather than adding you to a list and going quiet.

Can you handle allergies and specific diets?

Allergies and medical dietary requirements are handled as a matter of course and recorded in your child's file. For broader dietary preferences — gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian, vegan, halal and others — we run an optional enhanced meal programme covering specialty ingredients and separate preparation.

How do I hear about my child's day?

Through Brightwheel, our childcare platform. Sleeps, feeds, diaper changes, photographs and anything worth telling you about are logged as they happen, so you are not waiting until pickup to find out how the day went.

Membership

How membership works.

Do I need to be a member to enroll my child?

No. Pulse Academy is a standalone licensed childcare centre and most enrolled families are not club members. Club membership is a separate choice, and either can come first.

Do I need children to be a member?

No. Individual and Corporate memberships have nothing to do with children, and Pulse City Club — the lounge, meeting rooms and coworking — is adults-only by design.

What does membership actually include?

Social spaces, events and programming, the adults-only City Club side, meeting and boardroom booking, coworking member rates, and reciprocal access at every Pulse club. The optional Concierge programme is available to members separately.

Full detail on the members' club page.

How do I join?

Four steps: tell us you are interested, come and see the building, choose your tier, then sign and collect your fob. No application committee and no waiting to hear back. The how to join page sets out each step and what it involves.

Is the initiation refundable?

Founding memberships are fully refundable before opening day. For other tiers, refund terms are set out in your membership agreement — ask and we will send them before you sign anything.

Can I pause or cancel?

Dues are month-to-month after initiation. Pause and cancellation notice periods are to be confirmed here and are set out in your agreement.

What is Pulse Concierge?

An optional programme that takes three areas of household administration and owns them completely — gifting, school communications, home services, appointments. Your concierge never has news about your children; what happens in the Academy stays between you and your educators. More on Concierge.

Visiting

Tours and first visits.

Do I have to join to tour?

No. Tours are free and carry no obligation. Plenty of people tour, think about it, and come back weeks later.

Can I bring my children on the tour?

Please do. Watching how your child reacts to the space tells you more than anything we can say about it.

How long does a tour take?

About half an hour. You can pick a time directly from our calendar, or email us and we will work around your week.

What should I ask while I am there?

Ratios in the specific room your child would join, how many educators they would see in a week, how you will hear from us during the day, what happens on a day your child will not settle, and how transitions between rooms are handled.

Ask the same questions everywhere you visit. The answers are more revealing than the décor.
